2025 NT Motorkhana Championship R3
Hidden Valley Race Track
17:30 – 21:00
Round 3 of the 2025 NT Motorkhana Championship is from 5.30pm Friday 4 April at Hidden Valley. Our championship sees each driver drop their worst round and with Round 1 rained out you could still achieve maximum points by participating in Rounds 3-7! Whether you want to compete for Outright or Junior honours, or just wish to come and try motorkhana and have some fun, you are welcome to join in! Single event licences are available for casual participants, or annual licences if you'll be a frequent attendee. Vehicle occupants must wear enclosed shoes and short or long sleeves on shirts are recommended (no singlets or strappy tops). Working seatbelts are required for each occupant. Vehicles must pass a safety inspection - no leaks, no loose objects or apparent faults, and rubber on tyres. Entry is $40 for adults (18+) and $10 for juniors (12-17). Spread the word to friends and family and join the fun! Motorkhana is a motorsport where drivers attempt to navigate courses laid out with markers as quickly as possible. There are tight maneouvres, handbrake turns, reversing, and a good memory can help! The Darwin events involve production-based cars, so anyone can join in and have the opportunity to do well. You do NOT need lots of power or a specialised car or equipment. Some of the best performing vehicles in motorkhana are small hatchbacks. Vehicle speeds are low with first gear and reverse used. Drivers as young as twelve are eligible for the relevant licence, so Motorkhana is a great way to develop driving skills, car control and understand vehicle handling before getting out on the road. Register now! By registering for this event you are acknowledging that you have read and accepted the Supplementary Regulations and the Motorsport Australia Risk Warning, Disclaimer and Indemnity available at https://motorsport.org.au/docs/default-source/disclaimer/motorsport-australia_risk-warning-and-disclaimer_third-person.pdf?Status=Temp&sfvrsn=fe36fdf9_4. Introducing BATTLEKHANA!!! To continue the motorkhana fun through the 2024-25 Wet Season, we're proud to present the three round Battlekhana series.  Round 1 will take place Friday 1 November 2024, with Round 2 on Friday 13 December 2024 and the final round on a date to be confirmed in January 2025.   This new format will see a random draw of drivers to battle each other in an Initial Stage to see who progresses to the Grand Final.  Drivers will compete head-to-head, reducing the need for timing in the event of rain.   Course results will be based on the first of the two drivers to complete the course without penalty (including finishing correctly).  The first driver to incur a penalty will be disqualified from that run and hand victory to their competition.  This means ANYONE COULD WIN!   Courses will be setup so that spectators and drivers waiting their turns can stay dry in the pit area and see the action.   This is an exciting new format and should be a lot of fun!   Everyone who has paid for season entry for the 2024 NT Motorkhana Championship is automatically entered in this event.  New competitors are extremely welcome! Remember to share this event with friends and family on Facebook at www.facebook.com/share/WeMWyLLfKsDeF4JE/.
